Thanks. The problem is related to string representation, and thus perhaps to some build flags.

If I remember correctly, plantgl build with conda-forge boost succeed on ubuntu 16, whilst failing on ubuntu 14 (where openalea boost was needed, because of string class error). Is this related to this bug ?

Thanks to @pfernique, he explain me is due to the compiler version. Like the compiler is different, during compilation, I have this problem. I'll not have this issue on Ubuntu 16 if we install(not build) directly plangl from the anaconda openalea channel (with conda install -c openalea vplants.plantgl).
