Updated the README to contain current OSX installation guidelines and linted both files.
Tweaked the .gitignore:
- ~~Ignore cache files created locally in the oa/cache/root and boot folders.~~ Discovered this was erroneously flagging as new on my system.
- Ignore pycache folders no matter where they are generated in the folder structure.
- Added .vscode folder ignore.

I like the cleanup effort you've done -- sorry I was meaning to reach out earlier. It seems merge-worthy.

@joshuashort Thanks. I pulled it back because I'm working on trying to get it a bit more built out with more updated information. I reached out to @vavrek via the Riot/Element chat and email and he just started responding as well.

More than happy to help out where I can and as time allows. Would love to get on the same page as you and vavrek before moving too much further forward. Is there a preferred place we can chat a bit in more real time or do you prefer GitHub / Email?

Some things are probably easier outside of GitHub/Email. Let me dust Riot off and see if I can even log in -- I'm not very active anywhere, but that'd work, and I'd love to chat about things.
