Crash-Logs with "RDS Social TV" and "RDS Social TV 4 test" (HotBird) #2388

Update: I tested with two receivers (VU+ Ultimo 4K and Octagon SF8008 4K UHD) with openATV 6.4 and the issue didn't appear. After updating to openATV 7.0 and 7.1 on both devices the crash wit the two channels "RDS Social TV" and "RDS Social TV 4 test" appeared.

If you need more crashlogs I can reproduce the issue

Hello, I confirm an issue, but it looks like it is not OpenATV issue directly, but with HbbTV plugin itself (maybe newer Python version is a problem and plugin should be "reimplemented"). As "workaround" you can uninstall HbbTV plugin and restart GUI or device - of course when HbbTV is not needed.

It will be great if someone can confirm that it is a problem with plugin. Btw, in Poland HbbTV plugin is totally useless, because in DVB-T2 we are using newer implementation of HbbTV.

@uclara could you confirm that after error appears switching channels is broken? (no sound on next channel or wrong channel at all)

Hi, after uninstalling HbbTV the issue disappeared. I can also confirm that after the issue the channel switching seems broken. More in detail channel up and down doesn't work. If you jump over to an other channel via cursor down you can still switch channels.

Ihr the moment uninstalling HbbTV is a valid workaround for me - thank you for supporting

the issue with utf-8 allready fixed with 7.2 please check again
