Provide some context for the data #12

:saxophone: 31 new requests were made through Right To Know last fortnight. :heartbeat: Our contributors helped people with 7 annotations. :trophy: 3 requests were marked successful!

What do these numbers mean? Are they higher or lower than usual? Some useful context would be helpful here.

auxesis commented 7 years ago

Good news: we can use the week comparison logic from the PlanningAlerts runner to do this pretty easily.

Nice @auxesis What do you think would be helpful context? Compared to the fortnight before was something we did really quickly, I wonder if compared to some kind of 6 month average or something would be more useful?

Comparing over a 2 week period seems pretty sensible to me @equivalentideas.

If we want to compare over a longer period of time, we can't guarantee that we'll be able to scrape historical data.

We could consider adding extra data collection in the runners, where we store the raw numbers over time. This would allow us to work with the numbers more easily to do analysis over time.

That's a very cool idea.
