[Feature Request] - Convert English to Hindi as we type #224

In Gboard there is a functionality which converts English text to Hindi text as we type. This is very useful feature for Indians.

You mean instant translation? Openboard does not have internet access and probably will not have it in future due to privacy reasons. There must be a translation service in the background, e.g. Google Translate. Why don't you use Gboard?

Google doesn't respect user's privacy. So I don't like to use Gboard.

But for translation, openboard would need to connect to Google/Bing/DeepL/... Servers. It's a feature that cannot be implemented I guess.

I think what the requester means is transliteration, not translation, like this mode in Google Indic Keyboard:
