Android used to have a shared clipboard, so all running applications could see your important passwords. And Android Versions < 10 are still pretty common (ca. 20% according to Statista). In a privacy-oriented keyboard, like this one, the developers probably made a tradeoff between the usefulness of having clipboard history at all, and reasonably safe defaults.
If these trade-offs are not to your liking, you should probably change the setting manually, or use Gboard, but endangering the privacy of one in five users, because you're not checking out the settings is probably not a sensible solution.
Perfect example of how normies assume convenience over privacy should be the "default"...

Why on earth would you copy a password to clipboard at all?
Why and how history retention time to 10min by default. caused my copied important passwords to be lost
