Option for Mic Input button? #844

So something I see a lot with FOSS keyboards is they typically have no dedicated voice input button, meaning you need to go down to the keyboard selector and choose the voice input keyboard to use it.

If there was an option to have a little microphone button above the keyboard (even if it means doing away with the predictive text, optionally of course) it would be a lot more convenient.

FlorisBoard has a good way of showcasing this, as it works well. I like all other aspects of this keyboard better though, i just really wish it had that one button. I've attached a screenshot showcasing the function buttons above the number row on FlorisBoard as an example. Screenshot_20231123-223602_1

As an edit since I glossed over this: i'm aware that the button I seek dynamically pops up when it is detected that it can be used, but I wish there was a toggle in settings to have it always be displayed no matter what, as the clipboard button is. ;)

Over the last year the microphone has appeared and disappeared. Prior to this it was pretty steadily available . Currently it is gone and I cannot get it back no matter what. This is annoying enough that I'm currently not using open board but I really want to. This needs fixed.
