Record various Audio PSA to involve and educate the audience about this Emergency Broadcasting Initiative, what the station’s role is and a call out for people to log test messages for clarity, comprehension, etc. @billpolonsky will be able to assist in the scripting

• Detailed purpose of each PSA To update listeners about testing of the emergency messaging capability of our stations
• How many PSA's? 1 for CFET/CJHJ outlining the nature of the emergency radio tests. We will want them to be in English, French and Tliginit. For the HJ demo will include CAFN dialect
• What do you mean with "involve audience"? Inside the message, we will give instructions for listeners to send email/contact by phone about the quality of the recording, clearness and

• Do you mean that the audio team needs to do follow-up work (contact people) once the PSA's have being aired? No the audio team will only be crafting and creating the messages. We'll work on the who, where will recive and acknowledge the messages. Maybe find a "OB Communications Person"
• Do I understand correctly that Bill will write all scripts? We can go this collaboritivly. We'll also get some assistance from YG-EMO

• Time lines: My understanding is that the PSAs have to be ready for broadcast by December 6th, 2014? Inside Git issues, we can assign this task to a milestone.. Will research if its possible to have multiple milestones on one issue. I know that we can do this with issues from a project\repository. With our git account, we can have 10 private repositories. So I've made Audio recordings part of the /Server repository. We can do a public repo for free, but then, public gets to see these notes
• I suggest the following task time line: October 24th, 2014 - Bill provides scripts to Rob for review. October 30th, 2014 - Rob submits script review to Bill. November 7th, 2014 - Bill submits final scripts to Dieter for recording. November 14th, 2014 - Dieter submits produced PSAs to Rob and Bill for approval or suggested changes. November 21st, 2014 - Rob submits suggested changes or approval for audio PSAs to Dieter. November 28th, 2014 - Dieter delivers final PSA's.

Question: Where do I upload the PSA sound files to?

Some more questions:

1. Different PSA demos for Tagsih and HJ?
2. One PSA for CJHJ in English, French and Southern Tutchone?
3. One PSA for CFET English, French and Tliginit?
4. I may be able get a local voice talent for French but not sure about Southern Tutchone and Tliginit.
5. How would I record the native language PSA's if no one is available in HJ?
6. I assume there will be some kind of suitable music theme in the background of each PSA?

There is some technical information contained in the NAAD Guide R7A and Common Look and Feel Guide 1.0 about the technical qualities for Emergency Messages carried. ie 5MB file size limit, how to create properly formatted tones, etc. When creating our PSA and sample emergency messages we should make these compliant.

Rob, could you please clarify: I am still confused about the difference between the PSA's and the actual Emergency Messages . My understanding is that the PSAs make people aware of the emergency service on our station. So basically we educate people to tun in to our station on a regular basis or to tune in to our station if an emergency announcement is expected. Why does the NAAD emergency message audio standards apply to our PSAs? I thought the actual emergency audio messages are automatically produced by Pelmorex and not produced by the local station.
