Make OpenCATS available on cloud marketplace. #531

Please take my apologies in advance as I am not going to report any issue here.

Actually, I really appreciate the efforts behind this awesome product. It should be great if people can use it without deployment and maintenance hassles. I have an idea that could be worth sharing. The reach of the product can be enhanced by making it available in the cloud marketplace.

As a POC, I have created an AWS Machine Image (AMI) by streamlining the installation of OpenCATS on top of Ubuntu 20.04. Here I have addressed critical security vulnerabilities as well. Now this AMI is available in AWS Marketplace. It is a very basic AMI that only takes care of the installation of OpenCATS and its dependency. As a next feature, It can be updated to provision the RDS instance and automate the backup and restore process using S3.

Any thoughts?

@mbairagi85 from my perspective.. if you want to repackage the software and make it available on AWS then that's your effort. If you want to contribute changes/fixes/enhancements then please submit them to this project.

Hi @RussH, Yes, I want to repackage the software and make it available in the AWS marketplace. I will continue my efforts separately. This ticket is not related to any particular change/fix/enhancement in software so I am going to close this ticket.
