Project Terminology #11

In recent technical discussions we agreed to create an online summary/glossary of technical terms that are being used in the project. We will create a new section on the opencdms.org website for this OpenCDMS "knowledge base".

As an initial example, I have been using the term "process" to describe the various procedures/routines/functions/methods etc. that a user will be able to call via the OpenCDMS Process API.

The term "process" comes from work by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) to make routines available through a web API. See OGC API - Processes for more details.
