As an open source project we must strive to conduct as much work and discussion as possible in the open to allow other people to follow our activities and get involved.
We currently have a restricted mailing list and a closed environment for real time document authoring #25.
[ ] Guidelines should we created for the appropriate use of these tools and replacements investigated where possible.
[ ] Please also list below examples of where private messaging and private file storage tools may be required
GitHub is not always the easiest tool for collaboration (the reason for choosing GitHub as the main place for collaboration is due to its power assisting software development and source control).
Given the difficulties, it may make sense for alternatives like SharePoint to be used as a staging area for documents and other material. But we should always identify where the most appropriate location of the resource should be and ensure that everything is moved to it's correct long term home.
Some of our long-term options are: GitHub repositories (for files), Project wiki and the opencdms.org website.
