At least on blog pages, if not all pages. Want analytics on this as well.

kyzh commented 10 years ago

I assume that facebook and twitter have to be there. @whit537 any other in your short list ?

kyzh commented 10 years ago

I'm looking into http://blog.florianbersier.com/implementation-social-sharing-jekyll/
The list there isTwitter, Facebook, Google+, HN, LinkedIN. The license is by-nc-sa 3.0 so it should be ok to use it as an inspiration.

At least on blog pages, if not all pages.

I read the last post but I think we need our own set of data to decide what works/what doesn't. I never use them myself, I don't have data to look at and compare.

kyzh commented 10 years ago

Well it works but it's not production ready yet: sharing buttons

kyzh commented 10 years ago

Added tweeter, google plus, linkedin sharing button: https://github.com/opencompany/www.opencompany.org/commit/2eb0d7a30ff576ef5bd605a60aeb2c161e0f01e4 Facebook and HN are a not aligning well (and I use neither) so I skipped it. Both are supported though.

chadwhitacre commented 10 years ago

Awesome, @kyzh, thanks! I don't think we can get away without Facebook, however. :-/ Reopening ...

kyzh commented 10 years ago

@whit537 I will add facebook this time.

chadwhitacre commented 10 years ago

Thanks, I'm not nearly as worried about Hacker News.

chadwhitacre commented 10 years ago

For the record, here's the case against share buttons:

seanlinsley commented 10 years ago

@whit537 I already posted that here :P

Facebook need an appid apparently, so far none is used. Also the button is not aligner with the rest. Note: I don't have facebook to try what happens when you click it.

galuszkak commented 10 years ago

Maybe more than share buttons, it will be great to point on Twitter account?
