Query on "/network-instances/network-instance/afts/next-hop-groups/next-hop-group/state/backup-next-hop-group" #484

Hi @aashaikh and @robshakir,

In a hierarchical fib, next-hops with active and backup paths can exist at different levels in the hierarchy as shown in the example below:

Let's call a "forwarding entity with active and backup paths" as a ABN. Route -> ABN-1(active) -> ABN-2(active) -> .. (backup) -> .. (backup) -> ABN-3(active) -> .. (backup) -> ..

Given the backup combinations with this hierarchy, having a single backup next-hop-group is not feasible. What is expected to be streamed as backup-next-hop-group in this case?

Thanks, Mani Juniper Networks

Hi @aashaikh and @robshakir,

Could you respond to this query?

Thanks, Mani

Hi Mani,

I'm afraid I don't understand your example here. In the OpenConfig AFT model it is not possible to have a NHG map to another NHG, so I don't quite understand what is being shown here.

Thanks, r.
