Thank you for filling out all the requested information!

I am also experiencing this.

Phone: AT&T
Radio: N_01.77.30P
Kernel: CM7 Beta

This happens during a phone call. It doesn't only happen when pulling the phone
away from my ear. No idea why it happens. I have a logcat posted in issue 146,
comment 14 where I was testing something else but this bug should be recorded
in there.

The vibration is cause when proximy sensor detects the phone is moved away from
ear to turn screen on but its extremely sensible and any movement even whe the
phone is still on ear it vibrates and people on the call hear a "duck" when it
vibrates.

I cannot reproduce, my phone doesn't vibrate during calls nor when I turn
screen on, both during and out of calls.

This is easy to reproduce at least with my Atrix, I just make a phone call to
611 and while it goes through the prompts I wave my finger over the proximity
sensor. As the phone call is connecting I feel the phone vibrate a couple
times, signifying the proximity sensor isn't tripped. If I wave my finger over
the sensor I can go about 2 inches away (seems to be a bit oversensitive) and
then the phone will vibrate again signifying that it isn't near my ear. This
issue is not reproduceable on Bluetooth or Speakerphone.

Perusal of the settings shows no way to turn off vibration when the proximity
sensor is triggered, and I really can see no added value from the vibration
when the proximity sensor is triggered.

Original comment by naturefr...@gmail.com on 27 Sep 2011 at 7:17

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Further testing reveals that it is sporadic when the proximity sensor has the
issue with being oversensitive, but still this should not vibrate when the
proximity sensor is tripped. No phone I have ever owned has done such.

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Mine doesn't vibrate when proximity sensor is triggered. Please try again after
fully wiping the device and don't restore or install any 3rd party
applications. It's most probably an application on the phone causing the
vibrations.

Well I did a wipe, no issues at all, checked the settings, saw what they were
and copied them so I could put them in my current data. I restored with my
backup to check the settings and the issue is gone. It does seem to be an
actual bug then, hard to pinpoint if a wipe and restore with the same data
resolves the issue but that does rule out that it is an individual application
error (I could be wrong)

2 days later no new applications installed, it just popped back this morning.
One thing I did notice is it happened when I didn't turn off bluetooth after I
left my car. I'm doing a restore again to see if that's the catalyst and go
from there. One thing I will say is the Proximity sensor is red, I have no idea
if that is supposed to be such, but during phone calls I see it as a dull red
LED

I have went into the call settings and tried forcing proximity to on, but that
doesn't seem to work. The proximity sensor also seems to not always notice
that the phone hasn't been moved from my head at all... It will just start
going nuts next to my ear. I have turned off haptic feed back in sounds to no
avail as well. Is there no db or prop file that can be editied to disable this
as a work around?

you still have the bug being reported here or not.

[This is a bug bulk edit, apologies if I hit the wrong bug by mistake]
