When wifi says error there's 99% chance your hardware is bad. And when it
doesn't work on stock either it's 100% sure. I bet your bluetooth fails too and
you haven't noticed yet. Take your phone to warranty or live with the issue,
there's nothing that can be done software wise.

The bootloader cannot be relocked. Just wipe and flash a fruitcake, ask on XDA
for more help.

its not a hardware issue.
im in some boat, having the same problem after flashing the darside 3.2.0 rom.
at 1st was on 4.5.91 stock, radio 1.0.77.30p, krn 2.6.32.9-00001.....#2;
ulocked bootloader, cwm 5.0.27; than flashed to 4.5.133 via cwm, perfect..,
than flashed radio 77.36p, perfect.., tryed homebase 4with upd to 5,everything
is ok, but after going from darkside to 4.5.133 that issue,... then nothing
helps, going back to stock via fastboot, or other roms & krnels via cwm doesnt
bring any result.
had viewed dmesg & giving it to you.

I don't think this issue should be simply marked invalid. I have the same wifi
issue, but bluetooth works fine and my wifi was working a couple of days ago.
If I clear all caches and reboot my wifi will connect and authenticate, but no
traffic will actually pass over the connection. The phone will tell me "no
connection" until I turn off wifi.
It will keep connecting for a few cycles and then it will start displaying
"Error" like reported above.
Is there a log we can provide for some more info for you to go on?

I'm having the same error with the wifi and the bluetooth, the error only
happens with this ROM, it doesn't happen with the stock firmware or the
GingerMod ROM.
Could you please, find a solution?
Regards,
Guillermo

I've been checking in many forums and everyone started having this issue when
they installed CM7, any ideas?

Same issue here. Wifi says error, BT bootloops. Had CM7. Went back to stock,
rerooter with stock motoblur. Tried CM7 again, just got work. Really
frustrating. CM7 is causing lots of problems for me. Any insight into this
issue would be great....Thanks

I don't believe it's a hardware issue either. I have been able to use fix
permissions in CWM and gotten wifi to work for a few minutes. Then error.
Going back to stock, unrooted right now. hope it works. I love this phone,
but no wifi or BT is a deal breaker.

This is happening with me too. CM7 upgraded from gingerblur (previously stocK).
I've tried nightlies, BA2TF with several kernels including:
Atrix-CM7-Kernel-0.2.0-ext4-1.0GHz.zip
Atrix-CM7-Kernel-023r-ext4-1.30GHz.zip
Ba2tf-olympus... ROM I'm using
AND just upgraded from the .15 whatever (old) ATT radio to an admittedly
unsupported but very fast HUSPA version of the radio N_01.87.00R. I need this
wifi to work, and the wifi hotspot to work is that so hard? Do not mark this as
BS or whatever. I seriously doubt this is an actual hardware issue as I have
been able to make a working AndroidAP one time...

Oh, also, if it is NOT a cm7 issue or hardware issue, will some developer
please contact me with information that I can run with to motorola? I will make
them fix this issue if it is their fault, trust me. We will get to the bottom
of this bug I'm tired of looking at it, working around it, and thinking about
it.

Its not one of those easy bugs we might have to spend nights on it I am a noob
and when I had theism issue I spend around three months flashing all sorts of
roms and going back and forth I even otaed twice nothing worked that way I am
sure its not a hardware issue because it sometimes turned on and even worked
but then back to that issue but it surely has a hardware connection
Original comment by faixa...@gmail.com

Still fairly certain it's not a hardware issue because the AP always worked.
Flashing a new ROM over made no difference but performing a complete fastboot
wipe and then flashing a new (blur-based) ROM and my radio works flawlessly
again. .
(I did however not flash a new radio)

Note sure what 1.87 radio translates to, but 30P and 36P work just fine with
wifi, at least for me. 30P contains random reboots when data connectivity is
lost, while 36P doesnt

Hi, I just got the same problem after upgrading to CM7, went flash back to
4.5.141 from ATT and is the same, Wifi worked for 2 minutes on first boot, then
got the same error, I think should be something on wifi drivers, is there a
site where I can find this, all the links on the pages link to megaupload links
so couldn't find anything different to try

I have the same issue. Why do WE all know about this problem about the wi-fi
suddenly refusing to turn on ... and MOTOROLA doesn't? Why does Motorola not
figure this out and tell their tech support people how to fix it?

Sorry for bad English!
Same situation here... at&t on 2.3.4 android, 4.5.91 version... just rooted
year ago...
Worked fine till couple days ago, then start with described problems like all
others!
I unsolder cmos battery from board, check voltage, was on 2.5v instead 3v.
I found another one (witch is really hard to find original one) from another
moto phone and replace it! Still same situation! New battery doesn't help!
Battery is FDK ml414ru.. 4.8 mm wide 3v lithium rechargable battery!
Phone after restarting procedure can start both wifi and bluetooth but gonna
work till first command from battery power saver system options to turn off
data connection(after 15 min)... if that happens phone will be stacked again in
wifi error... also bluetooth wouldn't work...
if you stacked in boot loop will only help battery disconnection from board...
but not permanently!!!
I am trying different combination of wifi power options!
If you force wifi card to stay always on, on performance battery mode, wifi
will work normally!!! Even when I used juice defender to switch on and off wifi
with screen lock, wifi works normally!
Is it possible that all phones got some driver or some file OTA witch is couse
that problems with huge number of atrix devices ???
So wifi will work always after disconect small cmos battery from board! For me
thats mean that this is no hardware problem!
Best regards from Serbia!
