Audio does not switch to speaker when removed from dock #300

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Phone (Int/AT&T/etc.): At&T
Radio:N_01.77.30P
CM Release (NO NIGHTLIES!):CyanogenMod-711232011-NIGHTLY-Olympus
Hacks/Mods used: None
Kernel:2.6.32.48-MB860-CM7-G46FB91A
       Root@laptop #75

What is the expected behavior? When removed from Dock with audio out
connection, audio should play from speakers for alerts, alarms, and media.

What is the actual behavior? Audio is still routed through Dock audio even when
removed from dock. Rebooting or starting a phone call, hitting speaker button
and exiting phone call fixes issue.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.
2.
3.

Can you reproduce this problem after a complete wipe/factory reset? (do not
restore any apps or settings when testing)

Possible workarounds:

Phone was rebooted, google music was used to play an MP3, phone was plugged
into dock with speakers attached to AUX out on dock, phone was left for approx
30 seconds, phone was removed from dock, google music was paused, phone call
was started, speaker button was hit, phone call ended, log collector started.

TXT would not attach directly to post. "Issue attachment storage quota

The application doesn't even seem to be running, make sure you copied it
correctly.

I copied it over using root explorer. the APK is in the right directory. I'm
not sure what else could be wrong.

I restored from a backup and then copied the new one back over. rebooted.
Started google music file playing, docked phone.sound switched to line out.
undocked phone. sound did not switch back. started phone call, hit speaker. ran
log.

Your log is truncated and I only see an undock and call; you need to start
logging before you start to capture all the output.

Besides, judging by the debug output, you still used the old apk :/

That log is as truncated as the other one, why don't you start logging before
doing anything?

PS; compare the apk permissions with any other on the same directory and make
them match.

I don't have a PC handy where the dock is, so i have to use phone apps to get
the log.
I'll bring the dock to a PC with ADB on the morrow and log properly.

I switched Log collection software. I think this one isn't truncated.

Try again, I have updated the apk (same link). If you can, test on a clean
(wiped/factory reset) system, so the log is not full of other non-interesting
stuff.

once its removed from dock, sound doesn't resume even if plugged back in.

Well, I changed the log messages on the new apk and your log still has the old
ones, so definitely you're doing something wrong on your side. Wipe all, push
the apk to /system/app/ and test again.

If you see "Device (un)docked!" it's the old apk. If you see "Device docked!"
or "Device undocked!" it's the new one.

I pushed it via ADB and i still keep getting this in the log and no change in
functionality. I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong.

Maybe you installed it on user storage too by mistake?

Original comment by buhitoes...@gmail.com on 10 Dec 2011 at 12:20

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
The apk on my phone that does the dock audio is com.cyanogenmod.dock audio.apk.
once I replaced that with the apk you sent, everything was fine. Do you need a
log?

Original comment by ajwy...@gmail.com on 10 Dec 2011 at 11:53

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
No need for a log if it's working fine now.
