The chances are, either you have a bad install or your camera is faulty. If you
want me to take a look anyway, post a log.

this happened with me once, restarted and never happened with me again. i think
some app like skype is using ur camera and not letting camera app to access
hardware.

Same issue, here's my logcat : http://pastebin.com/ptjADbsc
Scroll down to reach the bug as I wasn't able to "> logcat.txt". Had to do it
manually from the command and prefered not to delete anything ! Thanks.
NB : FYI, this used to happen with CM7 ports to the HD2.

@comment 6: your log link requires me to log in to a box.net account, please
post a public link or use a pastebin

@comment 8: your log is truncated and rather full of twitter spam, but I see
"E/ImagerODM( 1344): NvOdmImagerI2cWrite: Send FAILED (dev:0xa6 err:0x2)".
Without a complete log and more info from you I can't tell for sure, but either
the camera hardware is on a bad state, or faulty. Does it happen always? If it
does, I'd check with a stock ROM (2.3 fruitcake), and take your phone for
warranty service if it doesn't work there either.

Sorry for the messy log but like I said I couldn't log it properly.
Until now, I never experienced it with any stock ROM. I'll report if it happens
again...

@comment 12: I see no camera errors on that log. In fact, you didn't even
launch the camera application :/

Okay, this is really weird... I was playing with the camera app, and the front
camera works correctly. The LED on the back of Atrix is working correctly too.
The lense of the back camera is not damaged, and i don't know anytime when my
atrix fell down on the floor to me. I did logcat again:
http://www.box.com/s/gb6iekvjj88qx35l1ls4 (sorry, i haven't pro account on
pastebin). Thanks a lot for help. I appreciate it a lot :)

hardware or software problem...

Well, sounds like hardware to me. The writes over the I2C bus are failing, and
resetting the sensor does nothing. If I were you I'd test with a fruitcake to
confirm, and send it for repair if it doesn't work.
