use headset for voice search

What is the expected behavior?
using a headset button should activate Google Voice Search.

What is the actual behavior?
no action present. a long press of the headset button opens Music app.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.plug in a headset or earphones with an inline button
2.press button once
3.no action occurs.

Can you reproduce this problem after a complete wipe/factory reset? (do not 
restore any apps or settings when testing)
have not attempted it yet.

Possible workarounds:
The original AT&T Atrix software would allow the expected results, where 
pressing a button would open the Voice Search App. Thus, I was expecting the 
same result after installing CM7.
