We would like to hear from a researcher who feels their research was taken out of context when working with mainstream media. This may include a researcher who feels their research was turned into a clickbait title or a snippet of their research was used without the context of the entire research study. You can remain anonymous if you would like. Before agreeing to share your story, you may wish to review our story release form.
Questions we are interested in include:
How do you define privacy?
Please briefly describe your research. How was it taken out of context?
What happened as a result of the research being taken out of context?
Were there any measures you were able to take to try and set the record straight?
Have you learned anything from this experience that would do differently the next time you are sharing your research?
Do you have suggestions on discussion questions for someone who might read your story?
Do you have suggested resources or tools people reading your case study could use?
