We need to proper timekeeping is done for our benchmarking tests. Need to look into a core go library or a third party library that does this for us.

The testing package for go lang has support for benchmarking and timing. I added this to commit: https://github.com/opendns/lemming/commit/b6b556f51489dd50f3e010772a469801d6418a18
