What steps did you take and what happened:
Running the node failure tests (https://github.com/openebs/e2e-tests/pull/564), where the kernel is made to crash leads to a metadata file issue as reported in one of the replica logs:
failed to read disk data, error while unmarshalling file: volume-snap-1db04a94-0aa0-4404-bbbb-3641392d587f.img.meta
What did you expect to happen:
The replicas should have come up and connected to the controller without any interruption.
