@nedbat putting this on your radar, I'd like to figure out if this repo should move to the openedx org or if it should not be installed by default in edx-platform. Can you look into that inside 2U?

FYI https://github.com/openedx/public-engineering/issues/178 is in the same boat if it makes more sense to look into both at the same time.
