What

In the list of allergens, ginger isn't listed. I would rather like it to be.

Why/User story

While Ginger isn't a common allergy, it is one that I suffer from, and it's usually one that's hard to spot in an ingredients list, due to it's short, non-eye-catching name.

It's also commonly used as a flavour agent, especially in milk alternatives, vegan / organic processed foods (like vegan yogurts or sorbets) - things that loved ones will often assumes is free of any possible allergens.

Thank you for the report, I'm transferring the issue to the Server side of Open Food Facts.

We have a limited list of allergens: the 14 allergens that are mandatory to list in food products in the EU: https://www.fsai.ie/legislation/food_legislation/food_information/14_allergens.html

There are of course many more ingredients that can trigger allergies. We could build new features to support them (e.g. allow users to pick any ingredient they want to be alerted to), but we should not add them to the allergens taxonomy.
