Inconsistent English football club team names #30

Manchester United FC is used in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 Manchester United is used in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2019, 2020

and there are many more like West Ham United FC - West Ham

Thanks for reporting the inconsistencies in the name. The update machinery has now full support for canonical names - you can find the official canonical name in the /clubs repos, for england - see https://github.com/openfootball/clubs/blob/master/europe/england/eng.clubs.txt.

If you read the datasets into the database you "automagically" get the canonical name - not sure if that answers your question or what you have in mind?
