GeoAPI provides a set of interfaces in programming languages (currently Java and Python) for geospatial applications. The GeoAPI interfaces closely follow OGC specifications, adaptated to match the expectations of programmers.
ISO provides Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations (XSLT) files for converting from ISO 19115:2003 metadata model to ISO 19115:2014 and conversely. We should verify that the replacement documented in GeoAPI are consistent with those XSLT. Some inconsistencies found is:
MD_Format.name: GeoAPI said "replaced by formatSpecificationCitation.alternateTitle" but the toISO19139.xsl seems to use formatSpecificationCitation.title.
MD_Format.specification: GeoAPI said "replaced by formatSpecificationCitation.title" but the toISO19139.xsl seems to use formatSpecificationCitation.alternateTitle.
