In the description of the license member make sure to mention:
that implementers should NOT include the full text of the license as the value of this field. This field is meant to be a "code" that stands for the license (e.g. an SPDX code).
normally, if you include a code to a license then there should also be a link (rel=license) that points to the license. In some cases however (e.g. the license member value is an SPDX code) this is not necessary since such licenses are well known. So, if the license member value is an SPDX code should we require a link or not? STAC does not require a link is the license field is an SPDX code BUT it is also not an issue if it is there.
personally, I am happy to do what STAC does in this instance.
