Study approach and how to coordinate with Overture project #77

During January 12 meeting, Francois asked (repeated his request) how the POI specification takes into account or works with the new Linux Foundation Overture Maps Project.

ACTION: Howard will examine more closely and report during next meeting(s).

There seems to be no public documentation on how Overture intends to model POIs. Francois mentioned "Open POI" - were you referring to this? I'm thinking not, since there's been no activity on that for 5 years. It seems that maybe only members of Overture could get access to whatever they're thinking of for a POI schema? Or does someone have a contact to people within Overture that would be willing to give us whatever their current thoughts on a POI schema are?

I would contact Nadine or Scot for a contact. I personally don't know if they are addressing POIs. There is not a lot of information out there on Overture: https://thegeomob.com/podcast/episode-163. All the information I have seen regarding this is very vague and I think OGC is trying to decide how to work with them.

I have reached out directly to the Overture project (via their web site) and got a reply which I shared with Matt and Howard that the steering committee would be made aware of the OGC POI work and reply to my request for a meeting/briefing.

I also sent and recommend that they watch the recording of our November briefing.
