Not having the DB Manager in Toolbar but having the validator there instead #941

The dataset manager is in the toolbar and the validator is in the menu.

In my opinion in the toolbar should be the things that are used while working with the data. Like - of course - the dataset selector dropdown. As well here the validator would make sense: image

The following question would be, does the dataset manager make that much sense here? Why it's there is clear: Because it's next to the dropdown using those values. But wouldn't it be sufficient in the menu only, since you don't do dataset modifications all the time. The toolbar would be slimmer: image

(maybe we cool do some small work on the the validator icon to look calmer (maybe by having the database part of the icon below like in the wizard icon etc.)

@webrian @romefi and all the others: Any thoughts on that?

What does the validator button (the one in the toolbar) do?

  1. does it display and hide the validator widget (similar to the button in the menu)? Or
  2. does it immediately start a validation?

I think, the validator button in the toolbar makes only sense, if the validation is started immediately.

Hm, maybe... But ain't there settings that have to be made first?

The reason why to put it there was as well that people didn't knew about it because it was not visible enough.
