Blutrol Compatability + multiplayer future #322

ios 6.1, running imame4all v1.11 - have blutrol installed with icade working 
flawlessly. 8 bitty controller no luck

there is no 8bitty profile in blutrol. Is there an existing work around to get 
8bitty controller to work with imame4ios? The 8bitty is from the same family of 
icade, but is just a controller. I tried mapping icade controls thinking the 
8bitty would trigger same controls but it did not work.

also it would be amazing if you could team up with Seleuco at the mame4ios 
project and work on multiplayer functionality. If there could be two sets of 
buttons and joysticks that are mapped on the screen, and with blutrol map two 
different blutooth controllers to it... and well, that would be a game changer.

I thought the 8bitty controller would be similar to the iCade and send the same 
key codes. If you go to Notes and press the buttons on the 8bitty, do you get 
text entered? If yes, could you press and release each button and note which 
keys are sent?

When I pair an 8bitty to my ipad and open note this is what I get -

up - "we"
down - "xz"
left - "aq"
right - "dc"
select - "yt"
start - "uf"
Top Left Button - "im"
Top Right Button - "og"
Bottom Left Button - "kp"
Bottom Right Button - "lv"
Left Shoulder Button - "hr"
Right Shoulder Button - "jn"

Weird how it triggers two keys at once.

When I pair a second 8bitty controller at the same time, it unfortunately 
triggers the exact same keys. So it's like two controllers hitting the same 
keys. 

1) Do you think you could make a profile for the 8bitty controller in blutrol?
2) Do you think it would be possible to have two 8bitty controllers to play 
multiplayer?

For some reason the 8bitty controller is now working for iMame4all, I'm not 
sure what happened but it's working.

The big question would be, since a lot of these mame games are multiplayer, is 
there a way to be able to set up 2 8bitty controllers to work at the same time 
as different players?

I'll ask Roger to provide a layout for the 8 bitty.

What are you're favorite non MAME 2 player games? 

Using Bluetooth Companion, we have full access to all Bluetooth devices and 
could get different data for 2 controllers, but we have easy way to use that 
data yet. (so, not impossible, but not very likely at the moment).

Thanks for the follow up and the info.

I have got to say, I can't think of any game that has any or good local 
multiplayer support -  great games like FIFA 13, the new Konami Contra, Dead 
Trigger etc. all handle multiplayer via internet/online.

I really feel iMame4all is the way to go since the games are already set up to 
recognize local multiplayer it's just about assigning different controllers. I 
have this video I saw on youtube of somebody activating all 4 characters in 
Ninja Turtles in iMame4all and playing as all 4 characters -

but since he couldn't assign different controllers basically played as all 4 at 
once.

Given the retro look of the 8 bitty controllers, it would be legendary to get 
them to work for iMame4all - I'm looking at version V1.11.0 

I don't mind if I have to wait a long time for this to happen, but if 
multiplayer can happen it would be amazing.
