Solves #166 and #168 I did not write unittests though :-1:

@JrtPec as you will see (not so clearly) I introduced the first() again. Seems to work well in python3.5

This means that for the server, we have to upgrade to python3.5 as well... Or use the new docker image (with your branch of the charts library installed).

@saroele, I have been invited by Arnout to manage the python-charts code, so there might be some activity there.
