[telegram] Messages from Group chats are not received #12765

I have the telegram binding installed and configured with a bot to chat in 2 group chats. It works fine sending messages to either of the group chats. The bot has admin access over the chats, I have checked that it has 'access messages' permission granted, and the Thing is configured with bidirection chat access (the default).

I would like the bot to be able to read messages from the group chats. It appears to read messages sent to it directly, and these are available in the Telegram thing channels. However any messages sent into either group chat do not result in the Thing sending any events in it's channels.

Did you ever get a workaround / fix for this issue? Not sure iof this is a bug or a configuration issue. Occording to the documentation it should not matter if it is a direct or group message that is received.

You could try the community forums.

Besides, it would also help if you show some of your thing / item / rules configuration, openHAB version etc.
