Enhancements from user feedback #22

Karen feedback -Debian swirl denoting Debian Developer is confusing to people. I'm thinking of removing it entirely. It also doesn't work on screens of different sizes well because the size is hardcoded at 5px. If kept add a tooltip hover description. -People don't know what Whiteboard is for. Add a better description for how to use it. An example would be even better. -More views should show whether people have been contacted or not. Does it make sense to exclude a user from a view once they've been contacted or just use a checkbox to show they've been contacted? Karen thinks too many people show up on a view and it's overwhelming. On the other hand it might be nice to see people who have been contacted. It might be even better to create different views, one for contacted and one for uncontacted. -The ordering of the columns (date vs. uploads) is reversed between first timers and lost contributors. -Karen says potential DD's doesnt show if someone's been contacted, but she likes that. -Title should say "Greenhouse" not "Greenhouse Overview". -Remove space at top of window. It seems to annoy users with smaller screens. -Give the option to see all the people you have personally contacted. -On individual pages most recent uploads shouldn't be on the bottom. Uploads are the only insight into what this person is interested in. Would much rather have them next to email/stats. -Karen doesn't think there should be a "Haven't done an upload since being contacted" column. It makes her feel bad. I think it could be potentially useful. -An area that shows one person with their avatar, stats, and tells you to contact him/her with a link saying 'no thanks' that refreshes with a new person' -Filter to people who've uploaded packages related to my interests.

Paul feedback -Add DDPO view link. Ex: http://qa.debian.org/developer.php?login=paultag -Too many DDs show up in new developers. This is being addressed in other issues. -We aren't looking to deal with replies right now, we just care about saying hi, but in the future users might care about that. If this is done maybe an email that can be BCC'd to record the emails. -Paul was confused by how to record the contact. He thought you have to copy and paste the entire email rather than just recording a one liner. Make that more clear. Example: I sent the person a greeting mail based on the standard template in the placeholder text

Generally, it's better to file individually fixable bugs as separate bugs in the issue tracker.

I will break these up later, right now I'm just moving them to the public record so people can comment on them.

More Paul suggestions dug up from the mailing list: List of new contributors in the past n time show who they are, what packages they've uploaded, and who sponsored Who has made more than N uploads of the same package and ask sponsor if ready to be DM people who have made lots of binNMU, NEW uploads, team uploads, be able to refine query on people who are also DM/nonuploading DD to become DD, show people active with porter folks and encourage them to go for DD, encourage translators, show top reviewers on mentors seek them out to join the team, find people sending in lots of patches to open bugs and ask what can do to help them get their uploads sponsored

Assigning to next milestone, just b/c we mentioned it as a possibility during the Monday meeting.
