Interim solution until we fix whatever bug exists with the typewriter thing

..... I'm not suggesting this should be permanent, but until we can reliably make the typewriter thing work on visit 2 / page refresh we might be better dropping it from the live site?
As all other PRs to this site, this is untested code-on-github only - please do merge locally and review pre deploy !
