2 years ago Similar problems. After changing a larger desktop resolution (such as connecting to a 4K TV), taskbar-stats automatically adjusts to a large font, and then switches back to the original resolution but does not restore the font, which causes the taskbar to be enlarged.
Then you need to uncheck "lock all taskbars" and uncheck the toolbar-taskbar-stats to manually adjust the task height.
Cannot be stopped until it automatically takes full screen, mouse left click/right click does not respond, Task Manager can be opened via ctrl+alt+delete, but does not respond to any mouse clicks/non stop blinking and flashing on off screen monitor, you're forced sign-out or to restart PC.

Sorry I can't debug/test because I had to uninstall, it bricked all my taskbar shortcuts/sort order and everything.
