"Electronic attestations of attributes" sounds good. However in the eIDAS context is one category of credentials whereas the other one is called "Person Identification Data" - so EAA would not be perceived as term for all kinds of credentials. "verifiable attestations" to me sounds very much like EAA.
I think "digital credentials" is the best option.
PS: you know we will need to change the name of our spec family again once we pick a new term ;-). I'm fine with that, just stating the obvious.
closing since i think the ship has sailed. changing the spec name now will cause more confusion, and I think most of the people are wrapping their head around that verifiable credentials is meant to point to all credential formats used in issuer-wallet/holder-verifier model
