Keyboard shortcuts can be changed from System Preferences like any other
application
on OS X. Mouse shortcuts, probably not.

The System Preferences keyboard shortcuts limits you in what you can assign.
For example, I cannot change full
screen from ⌘-F to just F

Yes, assigning custom shortcuts (like in VLC) would be great, the ones that
come by default are not very comfortable.
