It's nice to have a semitransparent filled rectangle around subtitles, to 
improve readability. It's hard to live without when you want to view your own 
subtitles over hardcoded ones ( http://cl.ly/79Kz vs http://cl.ly/79M4 )

Please do not spend time on this useless feature... 
It's stupid, because in case of hard subtitle we already have tools to put the 
2nd subtitle elsewhere (even outside the movie in the black stripes of the 
letterbox) and/or in another color, and it's ugly ! 
Furthermore, if you have hard subtitles, the best thing you can do is to 
download a proper version of the video...
