Sync/transfer list to another device with OI shopping list #35

I would love there to be a way to transfer a created list to another phone that also has IO shopping list installed on it.

unless there is a way to do this already? I know there doesn't seem to be an option in the send list options.

friedger commented 7 years ago

You can by using the OI Convert CSV app. It is not that convenient.

We used to have support for GTalk but that was deprecated by Google.

Would be a transfer to nearby devices sufficient?

Trinity343 commented 7 years ago

mmmmm maybe.. usually i'm sending the list via text to my wife when we're not around one another. and she actually just got her first smart phone and i put the app on there. was wanting a way to transfer the list to her and have it load into the shopping list. i can try the CSV see if it'll work...

though being able to use the Android beam (NFC) would be nice as well if that's possible

Have exactly the same use case. I already tried CSV export and import, but that adds items only and 'forgets' the checked/unchecked information (and that is a really important part of the list :) ).

aperomsik commented 7 years ago

Be sure to choose HandyShopper format in OI Convert CSV... then checked/unchecked and all other data should be preserved.

RolandDietz commented 7 years ago

Perfect. That does the job. Thanx a lot.

I need to be able to add and check off items with my wife while we're both on the move shopping in different stores. XMPP accounts are available, other possible transports that come to mind include a shared IMAP box or CalDAV tasks list (Google calendar?)

mrinterestfull commented 6 years ago

OI Shopping list should default export to "HandyShopper" as a default format import export. I had problems importing the file using the default outlook format on Motorola force 2 from Motorola droid turbo 2 . Exporting as HandyShopper worked, using ssh droid to transfer the files.

There might be some issue with the latest version of csv convert, I never had problems like that before. I wish I found this link 1 hour ago, do.

Thanks, Keep up the good work.! Lucas

Is there a way to sync OISL folders with syncthing to other Android device? This way without manual intervention more devices could stay in sync.

I use Joplin which has data folder on SD card. This folder accessed by Syncthing and propagated to other 2 devices. All works for more than 1y. But Joplin suck at shopping list.

Is there option or data folder needs to be coded into SD?

Thanks
