@majensen @will-rowe @csoneson are you able to edit this submission?
@Kevin-Mattheus-Moerman - we have a new editor joining imminently who this would be perfect for. Can we hold off on this for a few days until I've had a chance to add them to the editorial team?
@arfon, yes sure that sounds good.
:wave: @richardjgowers - I think this also be an excellent paper for you to take on. What do you think?

Dear authors and reviewers
We wanted to notify you that in light of the current COVID-19 pandemic, JOSS has decided to suspend submission of new manuscripts and to handle existing manuscripts (such as this one) on a "best efforts basis". We understand that you may need to attend to more pressing issues than completing a review or updating a repository in response to a review. If this is the case, a quick note indicating that you need to put a "pause" on your involvement with a review would be appreciated but is not required.
Thanks in advance for your understanding.
Arfon Smith, Editor in Chief, on behalf of the JOSS editorial team.
Dear editor and reviewers,
Is there any news regarding restarting operations at JOSS after the suspension announced by @arfon referring to COVID-19? These are difficult times and I most deeply hope all you are in safe conditions.
A simple question: in parallel to this submission, I have continued developing the software. Should I update any data on the manuscript if a new PR is merged?
Thanks in advance,
A simple question: in parallel to this submission, I have continued developing the software. Should I update any data on the manuscript if a new PR is merged?
Given that the software has yet to go out for review I think it's fine to make small changes to the submission paper. Once the reviewers are working on the review I think it would be good to keep things stable.
Thanks @arfon, I look forward to the continuation of the review process. Kind Regards,
:wave: @richardjgowers - given there are two reviewers identified already I am going to move this forward to review. If you decide we need a third reviewer then we can add them during the review process later.
@whedon start review
OK, I've started the review over in https://github.com/openjournals/joss-reviews/issues/2175.
@amritagos, @Luthaf, @joaomcteixeira - see you all over in #2175 where the actual review will take place.
