@thejasvibr - thanks for your submission to JOSS. We're currently managing a large backlog of submissions and the editor most appropriate for your area is already rather busy.
For now, we will need to waitlist this paper and process it as the queue reduces. Thanks for your patience!
If you want to fix the DOIs while you're waiting (noting that Whedon's suggestions are not always right), you can, then use the following commands (one at a time, as the first line of a new comment) to regenerate the PDF and check the references.
@whedon generate pdf @whedon check references
@arfon I think is relatively close to my areas of expertise so I can edit this submission
@whedon assign @faroit as editor
OK, the editor is @faroit
Thanks @faroit!
@whedon commands
Here are some things you can ask me to do:
# List Whedon's capabilities
@whedon commands
# List of editor GitHub usernames
@whedon list editors
# List of reviewers together with programming language preferences and domain expertise
@whedon list reviewers
EDITORIAL TASKS
# Compile the paper
@whedon generate pdf
# Compile the paper from alternative branch
@whedon generate pdf from branch custom-branch-name
# Ask Whedon to check the references for missing DOIs
@whedon check references
# Ask Whedon to check repository statistics for the submitted software
@whedon check repository
@whedon suggested reviewers are DrMarc, pharshalp, astanziola
I'm sorry human, I don't understand that. You can see what commands I support by typing:
@whedon commands
Thanks for agreeing to edit @faroit. Suggested reviewers from my side are DrMarc, pharshalp, astanziola
Hi @thejasvibr, sorry for the long waiting time. I wanted to make sure that I have enough bandwidth to probably maintain the editing process before kicking this off.
Thanks for agreeing to edit @faroit. Suggested reviewers from my side are DrMarc, pharshalp, astanziola
I think that sounds good, I would also like to include an audio researcher who isn't that much familiar with animal sounds but general dsp and python: I would like to ask nils-werner
if there is not conflict of interest.
In the meantime, I suggest you can already work on the missing DOI as pointed out by @arfon
Hi @faroit,
Thanks for getting back - no worries at all. No objections to nils-werner
, don't see a conflict of interest and would be great to have someone who's not from the same field as reviewer.
Will start working on the missing DOIs!
👋 @nils-werner @DrMarc @astanziola @hagenw @mgeier - would any of you be willing to review this submission for JOSS? The JOSS review process takes place on GitHub and focuses on the software and a short paper. We carry out our checklist-driven reviews here in GitHub issues and follow these guidelines: https://joss.readthedocs.io/en/latest/reviewer_guidelines.html
The software under review is beamshapes: a Python package to generate directivity patterns for various sound source models.
This issue is a "pre-review" issue in which reviewers are assigned. Once sufficient reviewers are recruited we will open a dedicated review issue where the review will take place.
Yes, I would be willing to review it.
@whedon add @nils-werner as reviewer
OK, @nils-werner is now a reviewer
I would also be willing to review.
@whedon add @hagenw as reviewer
OK, @hagenw is now a reviewer
