Could you say more about how this previous paper (from 2019) relates to this JOSS submission?
The 2019 paper was our first overview paper introducing pulse and its components. The JOSS submission focuses on our latest features not included in the 2019 paper, including the unity asset and unreal plugin, the ventilator and our hemorrhage improvements. These features show our advantages over other physiology engines.
@aaron-bray – got it. Thanks. Is it possible/straightforward to link to these contributions directly, either as significant pull requests/contributions, a diff showing the changes since 2019 or something similar?

Yes, that sounds like a good idea (apologies for the delayed response here).
@aaron-bray – apologies for the delay here but we're currently managing a large backlog of submissions and the editor most appropriate for your area is already rather busy.
