Hi @ytarazona and thanks for your submission! One quick note is that your paper is quite a bit too low. We try not to be too heavy handed about it, but 10 pages is much longer than we hope for. You can get more info here: https://joss.readthedocs.io/en/latest/submitting.html#what-should-my-paper-contain You could move the examples to the readme, for example, and set up some standard documentation like with ReadTheDocs.

The examples were moved to the readme as you mentioned. Please, let me know if any additional changes are needed.

@ytarazona Thank you for your submission. Unfortunately the greater JOSS editorial board has determined it not to be in scope at this time because it would require too much back and forth with our reviewers to address. Before considering a resubmission, check our documentation and some published JOSS articles to prepare your package to a more robust, complete, and polished state. Some of the comments include:

This looks like a wrapper for a large collection of data analysis and machine learning tools. That can be useful, but this particular project does not seem sufficiently developed. For example, clicking the "Usage" button on their homepage leads me to this empty page: https://ytarazona.github.io/scikit-eo/usage/. Also the examples provided in the "Get Started" menu seem to be assembled in a rush, with way too little explanatory text and references. If they make the whole thing more complete and finished, this can definitely be in scope for a submission at a later stage.
The shortcomings include the scope of the package e.g. in terms of instrument support, the fact that some modules are thin wrappers, and the lack of testing.
