@musoke — Thanks for your submission. I'm the managing editor of this track and I'm working to assign a suitable editor for this review. Everyone is working at capacity at the moment so it might take a few weeks before we can start the review, but I'll keep you posted.
In the meantime:
&
in your affiliation, which is a special character in YAML. Perhaps you can fix it by quoting your affiliation string. Check out the JOSS GitHub Actions workflow for testing.Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions as the review progresses!
@dfm, thanks for the update. I'll check out the syntax errors - not quite sure what happened there since the action didn't give me any errors. I'll also expand the docs, there is definitely room for more.

Hello @musoke, here are the things you can ask me to do:

@editorialbot commands
# Get a list of all editors's GitHub handles
@editorialbot list editors
# Check the references of the paper for missing DOIs
@editorialbot check references
# Perform checks on the repository
@editorialbot check repository
# Adds a checklist for the reviewer using this command
@editorialbot generate my checklist
# Set a value for branch
@editorialbot set joss-paper as branch
# Generates the pdf paper
@editorialbot generate pdf
# Generates a LaTeX preprint file
@editorialbot generate preprint
# Get a link to the complete list of reviewers
@editorialbot list reviewers
@editorialbot assign me as editor
Assigned! @xuanxu is now the editor
@musoke The editorial bot can't compile the paper because it's getting confused with another existing git reference: it finds the paper.md
branch when looking for the paper.md
file. Can you rename that branch? any other name will do. joss
, joss-paper
or joss-review
are common alternatives.
@musoke friendly reminder to take a look here
@xuanxu, thanks for looking into this - I was completely baffled by the error. I have renamed the branch to joss
- hopefully that works?
@editorialbot generate pdf

Based on your experience with Julia, math and astrophysics, I think you might be able to provide a great review of this submission. Please let me know if you think you can help us out!
@xuanxu I am happy to provide a review by next week 😃
Great, thanks @szabo137!
I'm going to assign you now and once we have the second reviewers I'll start the review issue, stay tuned.
