Could you expand upon this some more? Because I'm not sure, I'm understanding what you mean by small in scope.
Nevermind, I misread what you wrote.

@smasongarrison I am really sorry things are so slow-moving. I will try and focus on speeding this up, but at the moment I am struggling to find an editor with the appropriate expertise. If nobody is found soon, I will take this over myself.

 @mhu48, @vankesteren, @wjakethompson, would any of you be willing to review this submission for JOSS? We carry out our checklist-driven reviews here in GitHub issues and follow these guidelines: https://joss.readthedocs.io/en/latest/review_criteria.html
I don't have any experience with behavior genetics, so I'm would not be able to give feedback on the accuracy/quality of the methods. I could review for R package best practices (e.g., test coverage, documentation, etc.) if that would be helpful.
Happy to do so, look like an interesting contribution!

Thanks @wjakethompson, that would be really helpful. The R package best practices are also the main aspects of a JOSS review, so I'll add you as a reviewer.
