@fonnesbeck — I'm a bit at a loss here to shepherd the review of this paper, as I'm unfamiliar with the methods and application mentioned in the description ... I remember that you worked in some ecological applications of stats and data science: would you be able to review this paper for JOSS, or to suggest another appropriate reviewer? Reviewer guidelines at: http://joss.theoj.org/about#reviewer_guidelines

If I am allowed to propose, maybe @jsta could help here as I see he has a strong ecological background. Although we need someone familiar with fuzzy logic, the submission is not hard to follow if you see the README.md. I am here also for any questions 😊

@labarba I will have a look, and either review it myself or suggest another. I have done some stream ecology work in the past, but not these methods.
