From my conversations with people in person, Open Competencies is compelling to many people, for a variety of reasons. The current home page does not communicate effectively what is compelling about Open Competencies.

Teachers who want control of the education standards they are told to work with;
Homeschool parents who want to have a tool for managing the standards they want their children to meet;
Individuals who want a way to track their own learning targets.
