Projects within OMP you would want to be an ambassador for

I would like to be an ambassador for Mainframe Open Education Project and COBOL Programming Course.

List any other topics you would be able to speak about

  1. Mainframe Hardware
  2. Operating Systems
  3. Database Management
  4. Security on IBM Z
  5. Emerging Trends in Mainframe

Why do you want to be an ambassador?

Advocacy is a word that resonates with me deeply, particularly in my role as an IBM Z Champion. Constantly honing my technical skills through my university curriculum and Interskill Learning platform has been a continuous journey. While advocacy and learning are passions, aspiring to be an ambassador holds the promise of a broader impact. I aim to extend my contributions to the open source community under the Open Mainframe Project.

I was invited by a community member to be a student speaker at Broadcom's Mainframe Technical Exchange last year. From that experience I got to know about how they are contributing in this project on GitBook, where a wealth of knowledge is compiled for next-gen mainframers. I completed a COBOL programming course led by IBM's Jeff Bisti, gaining proficiency in the language's basic syntax and functions.

Becoming an ambassador is an exciting prospect for me as it presents an opportunity to not only advocate for causes I believe in but also to share the insights and skills I've gained. Inspired by past experiences, I look forward to making impactful contributions and fostering knowledge exchange in the coming year.
