As a New User

I want to use SUMO to simulate "typical traffic" in small artificial scenarios.

In order to compare output from multiple simulations/simulators.

Acceptance criteria SUMO ships with a ready-to-run simulation of, e.g.,

a simple stretch of freeway
a simple urban intersection

What exactly is the requirement beyond the current examples or Bologna scenarios?

I was only aware of simulations in the test subdirectory, none of which seem to claim that they model "a sensible freeway" (sensible traffic mix, sensible lane widths, sensible geometry for onramps, ...). The other freely available scenarios (at least those that I'm aware of) go one step further and model whole city segments, which makes isolating effects harder.
