Mapping Oakland's annexation #3

This is a tiny project @alanjosephwilliams and I (@daguar) have taken on. Sitting at the Oakland History Room at the Main Branch of the library today, we chatted with Dorothy who showed us her awesome (hand-drawn) map of the stages of Oakland's territorial annexation.

She also mentioned that it would be awesome for them to be able to put this up on the web site -- since they refer to it almost daily -- but they don't know how.

So we're putting those shapes together into a web map (and open geodata) using geojson.io because, well, we can. So JFDI.

Maybe there's other project ideas in this domain (DIY mapping?)

I lived in Long Beach when they annexed about ten square miles of county land to build their tax base. 20% bigger city.

I thought your README was right on target, as well, though I think you should have attributed the quote. ;-) I was pretty sure who said it, but you could have spared me the 15 secs it took to GOOG it.
