In speaking to a couple of folks it seems like the API is not consistent in responding, sometimes providing a good response, sometimes a server error (of different forms) or, strangely, a partial response. It would be good to have some mechanism of catching these issues. It may be that we cant catch them but a developer app could report the error back. Here to open discussion
